The golden voice of Qing San or Chin Shan Aoyama has endeared him to a generation of overseas Chinese in South-east Asia. He was born in mainland China (Zhejiang) as Tsan Tie-yueh Zhang Tieyue but grew up in Taiwan. From a young age, he had aspired to be a singer but was turned down by the National Taiwan Academy of Arts because of the lack of a formal musical training. Undeterred, he turned to mandopop Chinese pop music.
He continued to sing and entertain at military bases after he was inducted into the national service. After discharge in 1968, he signed up with Regal and produced numerous unforgettable hit records. He is affectionately called King of Evergreens or Taiwan Singer Castle. His most memorable hit is Tears of the Flower (Tears florets).
Tears of flowers TEARS OF THE FLOWER
In the rainy night falling under gray and yellow flower to flower rain reminds me she is like a smile to her
For what always put head hanging down quietly without saying a word to see her tears that she did not see fit to talk really taught me
In the middle of the night under the bright smile and spend the night there are several flower to flower smile reminds me of her, like her smile bright pink clouds
Only her smile often care deeply taught me smile like a flower to see her smile to see her really taught me not to speak heart care
